Return to Nature

A longing to return to nature is continually within me; a longing to find simplicity of life in harmony with the sun, moon, stars, trees, rivers, wildlife, and all creation; a return to the wild within me and outside me. I often feel like a tiger in a circus cage, trapped behind the bars of man’s amusement and exploitation, but I was not created for this. I was created to roam this world without fear, to aspire to the utmost capabilities within my soul, and to use this body to effect change rather than be used by this body.

Cities can be cold and cruel, and the constant rushing around only makes people anxious and weary, but there is a more beautiful way to live, to be, to interact with this world than the endless demands of ambition. A man could spend all his years pursuing his ambitions yet wind up with nothing but a pile of dirt. The world outside will only look different when the world inside looks different, but a lack of distinction between the two leaves no room for growth, and things that do not grow, die; and death, it seems, is in the hearts of many men.

If you could quiet the many voices vying for your attention in this noisy world, what would the voice within you be saying?

Perhaps today can be the day you find out.
