How Far Would You Go To Find Me?
How far would you go to find me?
If all my paths led to those distant plains
beyond the calm and sequestered lands,
fraught with danger and wild animals,
regions of destruction and the spawn of death
in unrelenting heat; and if my way
could not be traced or mapped or known,
except by the Spirit who leads me there
in the light of faith, a blinding rage
against the corrupt systems of the world
until my feet begin to dance across the cosmos
with an ecstasy unknown to mortals;
and if the blackest of space envelops me
like a blanket glittering in stars,
shining with a brilliance of contrasts
that bedeck night’s loftiest realms;
and if my path vanished suddenly
between the systems of the cosmic web,
untraceable as it shatters and fades
and ricochets beyond the unknown beams —
How far would you go to find me?
