Embracing Time

“Isn’t it strange?” she asked.

“What is?” he asked back.

“The way time moves so quickly,
then suddenly seems to stand still.”

“Well,” he responded, “perhaps time has slowed
because you have finally learned to be still.”

“Will it ever change to something else entirely?”

“I can’t say for sure,” he said musingly,
“but I’m sure you’ll learn about it in time.”

“That’s it!” she exclaimed. “In time.
As we stay in time, we flow with it.”

He responded, “Perhaps you’re on to something.”

“Oh, but I know I am! It’s like the seasons
that move at their own pace, and our role
is to accept each one for what it is.
We can only enjoy it by embracing it.”

“Embracing the seasons?” he inquired.

“No, embracing time.”
