Pregnant With Promise

When the seed of an idea is planted, it will grow until it bears fruit according to its kind. Whether the fruit is good or bad depends on whether the seed planted was good or bad — and also if it was given the needed time and care to grow healthfully. A healthy birth cannot be rushed.

If you are carrying a promise in your heart (the epicenter of your spirit-being), do not abort it just because it hasn’t grown to full term. It may be uncomfortable now, it may not make sense right now, and you may want to do it your own way, but God has a purpose for the timing of cycles and seasons. A promise must be watered with truth and fed with love, so that it may grow strong in faith.

Jesus spoke these words to his disciples: “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world.”
There is joy on the other side of your labor, if your labor is rooted in faith, love, and truth.

However, in a negative context (where a bad seed is planted), the Psalms speak in this way: “Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies.”
Be careful to cultivate the garden of your heart, so that you may uproot any evil or lies that try to grow within you.

If there is a promise that was spoken over your life, then trust that God is able to fulfill it, even if you can’t see how it’s possible right now. It’s painful and exhausting at the moment, but you can strengthen your spirit by feeding it nourishing food (truth, prayer, meditation, gratitude). Turn your heart to the Lord and trust Him, because He cares for you.

Don’t give up! Remember to breathe deeply and be patient, surrender to the process of growth, and allow transformation to happen organically.

One final encouragement written in the book of Isaiah: “‘Shall I bring to the point of birth but not cause delivery?’ says the Lord. ‘Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?’ says your God.”

Trust Him to deliver.
