Only You Can Make Me Whole

Lord, my love has failed me yet again,
so weak and brittle in its own expression,
seeking to console my soul’s loneliness,
but only You can make me whole:

I ask in humble tears for mercy,
though I know I’m not alone,
for only You can truly heal me;
only You can make me whole.

My sin deserves the greatest wrath,
which Christ has borne in flesh and bone;
Your blood and tears were shed to show me
only You can make me whole:

This alabaster jar is broken,
my body thrown before Your throne
in supplications, pleas, and prayers,
for only You can make me whole.

I’ve wandered far from safest pastures,
wandered far from Your sweet home,
but bruised and battered I return,
for only You can make me whole:

This lonely soul swears love to Jesus,
take me as I am Your own,
for only You deserve my love —
only You can make me whole.
