Children Chose’ By Thee

Like branches spreading swiftly far
beyond the roots that nurture growth,
dancing 'mongst the ether's dancers
twirling 'neath a radiant sun ––
and shadows dancing 'neath them further
'gainst the earth-clime's cold estate;
with'ring in its weather'd realms
while Nature doth retaliate; ––
like rivers running rampant through
the flesh of earth from Source to sea,
sprinting 'midst the mists of Heaven
slowly sinking lowly nearer ––
realm to realm comes crashing, kissing,
kindly greeting and entreating
like a lover's sweet affections
toward his smitten heart's desire; ––
like mountains trembling from a Glory
crushing them with greater weight,
bowing meekly 'low yon stars
that shine but dimly 'pared to Him ––
stones still singing, crying, chanting
praises at the sight beholden,
molded by the hands that folded
dust and clay into jars golden; ––
like all these wonders wild and free
surrendered unto Beauty,
so dance and run and bow and sing
the children chose' by Thee.
