Secret Vaults of the Sky
In the secret vaults of the sky
that lift our eyes beyond the hills,
above the birds where angels fly
and sing their songs with valiant trills,
there lies a place that calls us home
with open arms and gentle words,
reposed in these as if a poem
had sprouted wings just like the birds
and lifted us to joyful tones
far above the earth and seas,
connected where we’re not alone,
awakened where we feel most free:
Within the arms of love’s embrace,
where tears may run upon one’s face
in safety, where the worries die
and make a space where sorrows lie
beneath the grave of stolen time,
where laughter is the hill we climb
to run our race with heavenly joy,
where all we save shall not destroy
this bond we bind to break away
from lesser truths, where souls’ll stay
in summer solstice ‘til the end
of hardships, where their hearts’ll mend
from endless pain with gentle touch,
where all they say is said in love,
where all they do is done in faith
while hoping where death dies away.
